In the autumn of 2013, a group of children and youth from Neukölln participated in a number of art workshops focussing on ideas for a new central library building (ZLB). Their architectural models, sketches, films and installations were then, in the framework of a larger and a smaller exhibition, subject to discussions. As a result, a brochure was made to present architects and urban planners with young people's ideas. The goal of the project was to involve young people in the planning of the new library so that their suggestions could be passed on to those carrying out the actual building process.
The exhibition was on view in the present main library's foyer from Nov. 28, 2013 – Jan. 10, 2014. Some of the show was then also presented in the framework of the architectural competition at Tempelhof former airport from Feb. 4 - 28, 2014.
